Glass bottle laser marking

Glass bottle laser marking

Table of Contents

Marking and coding of the glass can be done using different laser technologies. Although the best known is the C Series CO2 technology, which provides very high coding speeds, the reactions produced by this type of laser are irregular. This is due to the interaction between light and glass molecules is calorific and generates a certain random effect that limits the definition and homogeneity of the marking when performing microfractures on the material.

However, these characteristics can be improved by using shorter wavelength systems such as the D-Series D-5005-UV. This type of laser produces a higher quality photochemical reaction than that provided by CO2. Although it has slower coding times regarding the size of the light spot as well as the wavelength, it allows markings of very high definition and homogeneity. By using this system it opens the possibilities of marking on high-quality decorative glass to industries such as cosmetics.

In the glass bottle laser marking, Macsa id offers through its C Series and D Series equipment the optimal solution to the different challenges of the industry.
